Lu Jinrong, Chief Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Hong Kong International Auto Expo and President of the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, pointed out that by leveraging Hong Kong's international advantages in connecting China and foreign countries, China's automotive industry's innovation strength and global landscape can be fully demonstrated to the world. Xu Niansha, President of the China Machinery Industry Federation, introduced that in the past year, China's automobile manufacturing industry has been particularly outstanding, with an annual production and sales volume of over 30 million vehicles in 2024, accounting for 35% of the global market share, and a penetration rate of 60% for new energy vehicles. At the same time, Chinese component companies have 22 seats in the global top 100.
Exhibition situation of mainland enterprises: There are 11 mainland vehicle companies participating in the exhibition, and the flying car attracted many on-site spectators. Nearly 40 automotive supply chain and technology companies also made a concentrated appearance, exhibiting the latest products and technological achievements in the fields of intelligent cockpit, combined assisted driving, automotive chips, etc. For example, the GAC GOVY AirCab made its global debut, the Xiaopeng G7 started pre-sales, the SAIC Maxus ETRRON 9 electric pickup truck made its debut, and the Zhiji IM6 showcased its overseas right-hand drive version. Yang Song, CEO of Autohome, stated that the Hong Kong International Auto Expo is the first stop for mainland car companies to go global. With its advantages in supply chain, research and development, and styling design, combined with the advantages of Hong Kong's internal and external connectivity, Chinese cars are expected to accelerate their overseas expansion.
In addition, at the 17th Xuanyuan Automobile Blue Book Forum, Yin Tongyue, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Chery Automobile, stated that Chinese car companies cannot slander and undermine each other's overseas development, making others laugh. Overseas car companies need to have a broad vision, provide tailored products and services for local consumers, and integrate into the fertilization of local economic and social development, truly serving and contributing to the local market, and achieving high-quality globalization of Chinese automobiles. FF founder Jia Yueting also pointed out on the forum that going abroad is no longer a multiple-choice question, but what truly determines the outcome of the knockout stage is how to go abroad and where to go. In the era of globalization 3.0, we need to shift from "selling products" to "creating value", stop the mentality of going it alone and winning, upgrade to "partner style going global", and jointly build Sino foreign strategic alliances and industrial ecological communities with destination country partners.
